Somewhere in a faraway land, there is a psychiatric hospital with a head physician and several patients. After medications at one point, all patients suddenly caught a strange "disease" and they always tried to bite someone once a day. This development lasted only for one week. When everything was fine again, the head doctor in charge noticed that each patient had 2 bites. But the doctor himself was bitten 100 times.

How many patients were there in the hospital?

Chike and Emma are two friends who are hiking in a dark dry forest when they see a huge fire approaching them. On the other side is a huge mountain that is impossible to scale to escape. The strong wind is blowing the fire towards them and they think that the fire will reach them asap. Chike assures Emma that they are not going to die and that he brought a box of matches, cakes, and enough bottled water to keep them alive for a day.

What is Chike's escape plan?

  1. 1. There were 50 patients in the hospital. Each patient had two bites, contributing a total of 100 bites. The head doctor's 100 bites were from the patients, not additional patients.

    2. Chike's escape plan involves using the box of matches to create a controlled fire around them, clearing the vegetation and creating a safe area. Then, they can stay within this cleared space, using the cakes and bottled water to sustain themselves until the wildfire passes. The controlled fire can act as a barrier, preventing the approaching wildfire from reaching them.

  2. 1.The number of the patient is 200
2.Chike plans to control the fire with the matches he had so as to prevent the approaching fire from reaching them. The cakes and water is to satisfy them till the approaching fire goes off.

There were 50 patients in the hospital. Each patient was bitten twice, and the doctor was bitten 100 times, therefore each patient must have bitten the doctor once and another patient once. So, if we multiply the number of patients by two, we get the number of bites on the doctor. 50 x 2 = 100.

Chike will create a firebreak, which is a gap in the vegetation that prevents the fire from spreading, with the use of the matches, They could start a fire that will burn the vegetation around them, creating a gap that the main fire can't cross. The Cake and the water will help sustain them till the wildfire passes.

  5. There are 200 patients.
Each patient bite once a day and at the end each patient had 2 bites, meaning that two patients bite one person each day.
The doctor had 100 bites...meaning that he was bitten by 200 patients

2)Chike's plan is to create a controlled burn using the matches. This will clear a safe area around them and allow them to stay there, using the cakes and bottled water to survive until the wildfire passes. The controlled burn will act as a barrier to prevent the approaching wildfire from reaching them.

  7. 1. There were 2 patients

    2. Chike's escape plan may involve using the matches to create a small controlled fire to clear a path and create a break in the fuel for the approaching fire. He may also use the cakes to sustain themselves and the bottled water to stay hydrated while they wait for the fire to pass or for rescue to arrive. Additionally, Chike and Emma may try to find a clearing or seek shelter in a rocky area to wait out the fire. It's important for them to stay low to the ground to avoid the smoke and heat as much as possible.

  8. 1. There were 20 patients.

    2. Chike's plan is as follows:

    a) they will clear the vegetation around them by using the box of matches to create a controlled fire around them. That will serve as a safe area.

    b) they will have to stay in that area and sustain themselves with the cakes and water. Sure enough, the controlled fire around them will help prevent the approaching fire from closing in on them. Since there is now a gap created, the wild fire won't be able to reach them.
