3. The Dark Doodad is an elongated dark nebula located in the southern constellation of Musca. Its shape is reminiscent of a giant ink spot or doodle, which led to the nickname.
All three objects are located in the southern hemisphere and can be seen with binoculars or a telescope from a dark site with little light pollution.
